Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
I work with adults living with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), supporting them in breaking free from the cycle of obsessions and compulsions. Through Exposure Therapy, I help clients build resilience, restore a sense of control, and improve their overall quality of life. OCD can feel debilitating and overwhelming, often creating a sense of lost agency. My goal is to help clients reconnect with their values, experience lasting relief, and develop the confidence to respond to obsessions and compulsions with greater flexibility and self-trust.
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, or OCD, involves having obsessive thinking patterns that can include unwanted thoughts, images, or urges that make a person feel anxious or distressed.
Individuals who have OCD often have significant difficulty pushing away or ignoring these thoughts. Those with OCD also have compulsive behaviors which are an attempt to reverse the obsessive thoughts or urges by performing some sort of action.
Common signs of OCD:
- Do you experience unwanted, intrusive thoughts that feel distressing or hard to control?
- Do you find yourself constantly checking things—like the stove, door locks, or appliances—even when you know they’re off?Maybe you feel driven to count, clean certain items repeatedly, or follow specific routines to ease anxiety.
- Do you have a persistent fear of contamination, or struggle to throw things away—even when you no longer need them?
- Have you ever been overwhelmed by thoughts that you might be harmed, or distressing fears that you could somehow cause harm to someone else?
- If any of this feels familiar, you’re not alone
These experiences can be exhausting and confusing—but they are also treatable with the right support.
If one or more of the above symptoms resonates with you, I encourage you to look into therapy today.
